Seatbelts are the most effective vehicle safety innovation ever developed. They reduce the risk of death by 45% and serious injury by 50% for front-seat occupants. In the United States alone, more than 400,000 lives have been saved since 1975 thanks to seatbelt use.

At Autoliv, this impact is the foundation of everything we do.

While vehicle safety technology continues to advance, its use is not universal. Globally, seatbelt usage drops below 50% in many regions, despite road traffic crashes claiming more than one million lives every year.
