Employee health & safety and inclusion are the priorities of our employee-related sustainability agenda. We also work to continually develop our employees, which is essential in a highly competitive and rapidly changing environment.
Our Priorities
Health & Safety
Autoliv Occupational Health and Safety Policy
Autoliv’s vision is “Saving More Lives”, which applies as much to our workplaces as to our products.
As a leading global producer of automotive safety components, Autoliv is committed to the development and manufacture of high-quality safety systems while providing safe working conditions for our employees and contractors.
We start with the principle that work-related injuries and illnesses are preventable and seek to operate our business to avoid causing injury or ill health to employees, contractors, and other interested parties.
To achieve this Autoliv will strive to:
- Comply with applicable occupational health and safety legislation.
- Continually improve our occupational health and safety management system and the maturity of our Autoliv health and safety culture.
- Identify workplace hazards and through risk assessment and with the application of the hierarchy of health and safety control measures, endeavor to eliminate them and then manage significant risks to prevent injury or ill health. We will review the assessment when circumstances change.
- Promote continuous improvement in health and safety performance, set clear targets and objectives, and provide an appropriate framework for reviewing objectives and occupational health and safety performance against them.
- Provide instruction, training and supervision to enable employees and others on our premises to avoid hazards and make a positive contribution to their own and others’ health and safety work.
- Consult with and involve employees and other interested parties in continually improving occupational health and safety at Autoliv.
Health & Safety Management
All production sites are required to implement Autoliv’s health and safety management system (HSMS), which is aligned with ISO 45001 requirements. The cornerstone of our HSMS is the global safety assessment that is an integrated part of the Autoliv Production System. These quarterly assessments establish the principles and internal standards by which H&S activities and operations are managed, provide a factual basis for identifying significant hazards and risks, and support in implementing continuous improvement activities to eliminate or mitigate these hazards and risks.
Diversity and Inclusion
Inclusive ways of working are an asset and a fundamental part of the Autoliv Key Behaviors. Including a multitude of perspectives is an integral aspect of successful decision-making in all parts of the organization and helps drive innovation and create long-term sustainable shareholder value in a rapidly changing industry. We believe that everyone should be respected and treated fairly, and we are committed to providing an inclusive and diverse workplace where everyone can be themselves, deliver results and bring their authentic selves to work.
