Post Analysis
The tests can be documented frame by frame using different types of cameras. High-speed film cameras capable of shooting up to 10,000 frames per second are used, along with high speed video cameras with digital motion storage and instant viewing capabilities. Due to the requirement of extreme lighting for the film exposures, a 100kW lamp system is installed. Both cameras and lights are g-resistant and can be used on board the sled or the vehicle during tests. Image representing tests are being filmed

Image representing crash testing After a crash test, the vehicle and the impact results are carefully analysed. The vehicle's deformation is measured with 3D digital measuring equipment. Various injury criteria are evaluated by using the dummy measurements obtained during the test. Vehicle and dummy movements, recorded on film during the impact, are digitized by the film analysis equipment, which automatically tracks a number of predetermined target points. Resulting data such as displacement, velocity and retardation over time or distance for different dummy and vehicle parts are then analysed.

Test Report
Autoliv's digital cameras and advanced software packages mean that the lead times are extremely short. Films, pictures, results and conclusions are generated in digital format and can be reported to the client as hard copy, tape, optical disc, CD-Rom, on line, or with any other preferred media.

Safety Recommendations
Along with a clear interpretation of test results, upon customer request Autoliv can provide a list of specific safety recommendations and a critical path for achieving them - another part of Autoliv's commitment to solving problems and saving lives.
