Buckle
|
|
A seatbelt buckle must be able to withstand extremely high loads during a crash. At the same time, it must be easy to open even when heavily loaded (if, for instance, a person is left hanging upside down in the belt). Autoliv has developed a unique, patented buckle, which is designed to withstand high accelerations in all direction without opening, which is critical when the seatbelt system includes a pyrotechnic pretensioner. This device pulls rapidly the buckle towards the floor to tighten the belt during a crash. |
