Most automotive safety systems are controlled by electronics. Autoliv has developed safety electronics since 1987 and the first airbag control module was produced in 1992 for BMW. Autoliv Electronics has operations primarily in France, Sweden, the U.S and China with approximately 1.500 employees in total.
Night Vision	ECU	Satellite Sensor

With Autoliv's Night Vision system, the driver will be able to see 300 meters instead of 100 meters at night. Read more here	The main Electronic Control Unit (ECU) is typically located in the middle of the vehicle, where it is well protected. This "electronic brain" of the car's safety systems decides not only if and exactly when each of the seat belt pretensioners should be fired but also if and when each airbag stage should be deployed.	Vehicles with side-impact airbags have satellite sensors or remote sensor units (RSU) in the doors for early detection of the crash. Some vehicles also have RSUs in the front.

Automatic SOS-System

If the occupants are unconscious after a severe crash, Autoliv's automatic SOS-system calls the emergency center and provides the rescue team with the location of the vehicle. This post-crash system that Autoliv introduced in 2000 can also be used to trace a stolen vehicle. Read more here
